This tax season has been quite an unusual one.
With the deadline extended, and money being deposited constantly, delays with receiving refunds from the IRS have been increasing for some. Due to the events of the coronavirus and worry of spreading disease, the mail in option for submitting taxes was put to a halt. As the we continued through the pandemic, the IRS started encouraging tax payers to e-file in hopes to speed up the process of sending out refunds.
Those that have mailed in their 2019 taxes should expect delays with their refunds, and as of now, so should those that have e-filed. One of the main reasons delays might occur is because the documents may need additional review.
If you haven’t received your tax refund yet, check the status at Where’s My Refund? or call 800-829-1954. The Kael Company Inc. would also be happy to assist you with any questions about your 2019 taxes and preparing your finances for next year.
