The word budgeting seems to scare a lot of people in to avoiding it at all costs. It doesn’t have to be such a scary or intimidating thing despite some horror stories you may have heard!
The first step in breaking down the stigma of budgeting is to properly and clearly define what it means to make a budget.
So many people equate budgeting to a limiting activity, that budgeting is a deciding factor to limit your lifestyle. A budget should truly be a working document (always able to be adjusted anytime) on how you want to spend your money so that you can accomplish all your ambitions and goals.
A budget should not be viewed as something to hold you back, rather to excel you forward! And it can and should be changed frequently as your goals and life decisions change.
A budget also allows you to clearly see how going out to eat or spending money on a new piece of equipment can affect the rest of your month. It can help allow you to make better decisions on when to spend and when to keep saving.
Whether your goals change or costs to do certain activities or buy things change, the budget will always fluctuate.
Budgeting is not limiting, it will give you the freedom to do with you please with the money you have.
